Peter Luongo photo This photo was taken at VIR in the spring of 1968 The current model cars (TR-250 & Spitfire MKlll had the black hood stripes. The out of production cars TR4(a, I think, but live rear axle for sure) and Spitfire Mkll did not. In 1969, all the cars had the black hood stripe reply

This is the TR-250 in '68. Note the black helmet with white trim & reversed 44s, which was part of the team livery that year. '68 was the only year we ran a TR-250, (really a TR-5 because it ran fuel injection). The TR-250 was my favorite Group 44 Triumph. The same car was a TR-6 in 1969, but I liked the TR-4 body better reply

This is the same TR-4a IRS in '66. Tony "a2z" Adamowicz painted everyone's helmets metallic green in a hotel room, much appreciated by the management, I'm sure reply

Actually this is a TR4a IRS in '67. We campaigned the car in 66 & 67 & sold it at the end of the '67 season. In 1968, we got the TR-250/TR-5. That car always had the TR-250 stripe on the hood, although it was painted black, rather than the factory silver. That car was converted to a TR-6 in 1969, by simply changing the body reply
